Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, who had undergone a coronary bypass surgery a year ago, on Sunday went through a routine medical check up at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences in Delhi.

All tests conducted on the 77-year-old prime minister were "normal and everything is all right," doctors attending on him said.

"This is a routine evaluation that was done in two parts. He underwent a Stress-Thallium test. It was done in two parts -- one was done at 8 am and the other was done at 12.30 pm," said Dr K S Reddy, personal physician to Dr Singh.

During the tests, a patient is made to do some exercises and certain assessments are made by doctors to check if the heart is able to take stress.

Reddy said, "This is a test conducted to check the functioning of the heart. Dr Singh has undergone a heart surgery last year and this is an evaluation process to ascertain the working of his heart."

A team of doctors at AIIMS were involved in the tests. "All tests are normal and everything is all right with the prime minister," Reddy said

The prime minister is back at home and his engagements slated for Monday stand as per schedule, said a PMO spokesperson. Dr Singh is scheduled to inaugurate a conference of state chief secretaries on Monday morning.

He had undergone a 'beating heart' surgery on January 24 last year to clear coronary blockages.
