The Kerala government has taken a serious view of an incident in which a Pakistan national allegedly violated visa rules and acted in an advertisement film shot at the high-security Info Park in Kochi in June.

Muhammed Junaid Khan arrived on a tourist visa at Kochi on June 28 and returned to Mumbai on June 30 after the shoot, Home Minister Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan told the assembly while reacting to a submission of Communist Party of India - Marxist Deputy Leader in the House Kodiyeri Balakrishnan.

Khan had acted in an advertisement film shot at the Thejomayi Building at the Info Park. Steps were being taken to place him in the black list, the minister said.

A case has been registered against one Kunjuabdulla, Khan's sponsor, and the co-ordinator of the film unit Krishnakumar.

The police have started their investigation and the government had taken the incident "very seriously," Radhakrishnan said.

Balakrishnan wanted to know from the government how such a thing happened in a high-security zone.

No one has been taken into custody in connection with the incident, Balakrishnan said.
