Railway Minister Nitish Kumar on Thursday said he would withdraw his resignation from the Cabinet.

"I will go to Rail Bhawan around 11:00 am," Kumar said in New Delhi.

Kumar had resigned on Monday following sharp differences within the Samata Parliamentary Party.

On Tuesday, in an exclusive interview to rediff.com's Tara Shankar Sahay, Kumar said there was no question of withdrawing his resignation. "I will work without ministerial position or party responsibility," he had said. "In this way, it will solve everybody's problem in the party. I will also be a free bird. Everybody will be satisfied."

Samata MP Prabhunath Singh, who was said to have been the provocation for Kumar's decision, met him for two hours on Wednesday night and urged him to take back his resignation.

After the meeting, Singh had indicated that Kumar would withdraw his resignation, as all differences had been resolved.
