Medical report terms Amar Singh's health as stable, normal

The health parameters of Rajya Sabha member of Parliament Amar Singh, who has been arrested for his alleged role in the 2008 cash-for-vote scam and who is seeking interim bail from a Delhi court on medical ground, has been described in medical reports from Tihar jail as "stable and normal".

Submitting the status report before Special Judge Sangita Dhingra Sehgal on Singh's medical condition, the jail authorities said quoting the medical status repor that "his medical condition is stable and all parameters are near normal, as reported by various specialists and as indicated by the pathological tests". They said Singh is under regular medical supervision.

"It is...submitted that every effort is being made by the prison administration to have him (Amar Singh) examined by various super specialists in view of the medical history of renal transplantation, intestinal resection, diabetes mellitus, hypertension etc.

"In addition, he is under regular medical supervision of the resident medical officer, senior medical officer and duty doctors of the jail. His blood pressure and sugar are monitored three times a day," the jail authorities said.
