Three bogies of the the Kanyakumari Express, which left from Bangalore on Sunday night, derailed between Varadhapura and Kamasamudram in Kolar district of Karnataka [ Images ].
The South Western Railway said the bogies next to the engine had jumped the track.
Passengers, however, are safe. Due to the derailment, several trains were cancelled or diverted .
Track restoration work has been delayed because of the rains.
