Railway Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav and his wife, Bihar Chief Minister Rabri Devi, on Friday offered prayers at the Venkateswara Temple at Tirumala, near Tirupati.
The couple and their six children, who were visiting the shrine for the first time, participated in Brahmotsavam -- the day the festival commences -- on Thursday night.
Later, they went to the Lord Shiva temple at Sri Kalahasti, about 40 km from Tirupati.
