A recently leaked intelligence report has exposed Pakistan’s lies and lack of intent in tackling terrorism, as it reveals that dreaded terrorist Zaki-ur-Rehman Lakhvi, the man behind the 26/11 terror attacks in Mumbai, is being protected by Pakistan Army commandos and is staying at a Directorate for Inter-Services Intelligence safe house on Lahore’s outskirts.
The report states that in fact, ever since his release from prison on April 10, Lakhvi has been provided full protection of plain clothed security officials, so as to not create controversy.
The details are part of a report given by the intelligence agencies to the government on Pakistan’s security scenario since Lakhvi’s release.
The report also states that it is not improbable that Lakhvi is in contact with senior Pakistan government officials.
Earlier, too it had been revealed that Lakhvi, while in prison, lived a life of luxury. Lodged in Rawalpindi’s Adiala Jail, the man charged with planning and executing the 2008 Mumbai attacks, in which over 160 people died, had several rooms to his disposal and also had access to a television, mobile phone, Internet and also received well over a dozen visitors a day.
The Laskhar-e-Tayiba operations commander, a close relative of Jamaat-ud Dawa chief Hafiz Saeed, was arrested in December 2008 and was indicted along with the six others on November 25, 2009 in connection with the 26/11 attack case.
