A broad range of internal security issues, including those related to Jammu and Kashmir and the naxal problem, were at the centre of the ongoing three-day deliberations between the Sangh Parivar and the government.

Home Minister Rajnath Singh is believed to have explained the government's actions in dealing with the security challenges in Jammu and Kashmir where the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh functionaries raised the issue of recent terror attacks and the increasing ceasefire violations by Pakistan.

Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar, who also participated in the interaction between the government, Bharatiya Janata Party and RSS and its 15 affiliates, gave his perspective of the security situation and the steps taken by the forces to counter violations from across the border.

Singh broached the framework Naga peace treaty entered into by the government with Nationalist Socialist Council of Nagaland (Isak Chishi Swu-Muivah) which, sources said, was appreciated by several participants.

Apart from the two senior ministers, a number of other ministers, including HRD Minister Smriti Irani, party leaders, besides BJP chief Amit Shah, attended the meeting on Thursday which also discussed education and social issues.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to join the event tomorrow when he may touch issues raised during the deliberations. He will also be given a feedback by the Sangh top brass.

All key ministers have joined the exercise and spoken about the measures taken by them in relation to the issues raised by the RSS and its affiliates.
