The blasts outside the Chinnaswamy stadium in Bengaluru on April 17 was carried out by a terrorist organisation at the behest of the betting lobby, Karnataka Home Minister Dr V S Acharya told rediff.com on Tuesday.

When asked whether the interrogation of People's Democratic Party leader Abdul Nasser Madani had revealed his involvement in the blasts, Dr Acharya said he had been misquoted by some agency and that at this point of time there was nothing to show that the Kerala leader was involved in the blasts.

The Home Minister further went on to add that the investigation of the IPL blasts case was on in full swing and that the police have been getting several clues.

I do not want to pinpoint or take the name of the outfit since it may jeopardise the ongoing investigation. Just wait for some more time; all details will be out, he said.

Meanwhile, police sources confirmed that it was an Indian Mujahideen operative, Salman alias Chotu, who carried out the blasts.

Chotu, a key operative of the IM, is currently in the custody of the Delhi Police for his role in the blasts there. He is also wanted in the Jaipur blasts.
