Prime Minister Manmohan Singh has described as 'irrelevant' some portions of the Shunglu committee report which indicted Delhi government for alleged Commonwealth Games irregularities, Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit said on Friday.

Dikshit said the prime minister made the comment when she met him on Friday to brief him about the voluminous response filed by her government to the home ministry rebutting the allegations made by the panel.

"I told him that we have filed a point-by-point response to the findings of the Shunglu Committee report. The prime minister agreed that there were some irrelevant portions in the report," Dikshit told PTI.

The remarks by the PM are seen as endorsement of the city government's view on the report which had entirely trashed all the findings of the panel.

Delhi government has sent its response to the findings of the panel to the home ministry last week. Grappling with the allegations of corruption by the probe panel, Delhi government had sent its nearly 3,000 page response to the home ministry last week trashing the findings of the committee, arguing that they were based on "presumptions" and "assumptions".

Dikshit said she has also apprised the Prime Minister about President Pratibha Patil's rejection of the city Lokayukta's recommendation to sack Chauhan for his alleged involvement in protecting a leading resort in a tax evasion case.

"I informed Singh about the Chauhan issue also," she said. Lokayukta Justice Manmohan Sarin had in February recommended to the President to "withdraw her pleasure" for the minister to continue in office, holding him guilty of misconduct of "grave nature".

Dikshit said the issue of Baba Ramdev's proposed fast from Saturday at the Ram Lila Maidan also figured in the discussion.

"We have made all the arrangements like supply of water and power at Ram Lila Maidan. We have told MCD to ensure proper sanitation in the area," she said.

Dikshit said some close associates of Ramdev had met her two days back asking for supply of water and power and some other facilities at the Ram Lila Maidan and she has assured them that the arrangements will be made by the government departments.
