The Congress on Monday took a dig at National Democratic Alliance's vice presidential nominee Jaswant Singh [ Images ] reminding him of his unceremonious exit from the Bharatiya Janata Party [ Images ] three years ago for praising Pakistan's founder Mohammed Ali Jinnah in his book.

"This is NDA's decision as to whom they make their vice presidential candidate. We wonder whether his party is with him or not. Three years ago, Singh was thrown out from the same BJP in a very humiliating manner," party spokesperson Manish Tewari told reporters.

His comments came on a day, when the NDA unanimously decided for a contest against UPA's vice presidential nominee Hamid Ansari and fielded Jaswant Singh as its candidate.

Singh, a member of the BJP since it was formed in 1980, was expelled from his party in August 2009 for the praise he heaped on Jinnah in his book  'Jinnah: India [ Images ], Partition, Independence".

The incident had happened when a Chintan Baithak of the BJP was going on in Shimla.

Tewari said his party is confident of the victory of it's vice presidential candidate. "There is no worry about the numbers. We have that," he said.
