An autobiographical novel that mafia don Bablu Srivastava claimed he had authored was launched at a function in Mumbai on Friday. The gangster, who had been granted parole for the occasion, could not attend, as the police did not bring him citing security reasons.

The novel, Adhura Khwab (unfulfilled dream) was released by Bablu's Apna Dal Party president Sone Lal Patel.

Bablu, currently in Bareilly jail, was granted a parole of two hours by the court for the release function, but the police expressed its inability to bring him to the state capital citing security reasons.

Bablu's lawyer Ranjit Bahadur Srivastav told newspersons that he would file a contempt petition against the administration for its failure to bring him to the venue.

The publisher of the book, Delhi-based Nai Sadi Prakashan proprietor Satish Verma denied allegations that someone else penned the novel.

The book claims to be an authentic first hand account of the experiences of Bablu's relations with Dawood Ibrahim and other underworld gangsters.
