Reacting sharply to the increasing demand from the Congress to ban Bajrang Dal, Shiv Sena supremo Bal Thackeray on Monday sought the banning of the Samajwadi Party and said its leader Amar Singh should be sent to Pakistan.

In an editorial of Sena newspaper Samna, the senior Thackeray claimed that some of the terrorists arrested in the Jamia Nagar Batla House encounter were activists of Samajwadi Party and for this reason the party should be uprooted for the sake of the country's interest.

He said it was the SP, which kept on defending Parliament attack accused Afzal Guru and delaying his execution.

However, the Congress rather than demanding a ban on traitors, have demanded a ban on Hindu and nationlist oufits like Bajrang Dal.

Thackeray also praised Bollywood actor Salman Khan and his father Salim Khan and said Indian Muslims should follow Salim Khan, who, in a recent interview to a newspaper, said though he was a Muslim by religion he was Hindu by culture.
