Sri Lankan war planes on Tuesday bombed a suspected Tamil Tiger training camp in the northern Mullaitivu district.

The training base of the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam was bombed on Tuesday morning, the defence ministry said, adding that the Tigers were believed to have suffered heavy losses.

There was no immediate word from the Tigers.

Two Tigers were killed in a ground attack on Monday evening in the Vavuniya region where two soldiers were also wounded.
