December 21, 2007 11:48 IST

The toll in rain-related incidents in Tamil Nadu during the last three days rose to 50, with five more deaths reported from several parts of the state since Thursday night.

Reports received at the police headquarters here said of the five deaths, two were reported from Villuppuram and one each from Dharmapuri, Namakkal and Dindugul districts.

Meanwhile, normal life returned in various parts of the state, including the Cauvery Delta districts, as there were no rains since Thursday.

In Chennai city, water receded in several areas and the life returned to normal.

However, people in some of the suburban areas faced difficulty in commuting as the rain water had not receded substantially.
