Hamid Ansari elected vice-president A Correspondent | August 10, 2007 19:20 IST Hamid Ansari has been elected as the 13th vice-president of India. The United Progressive Alliance-Left candidate defeated National Democratic Alliance candidate Najma Heptulla [Images] and the Third Front candidate Rashid Masood in Friday's election. Ansari got 455 votes and Heptulla got 222. Further details soon.
