Lanka: Gunmen take away Indian High Commission van

An Indian High Commission van was taken away by unidentified gunmen on Monday night, police said on Tuesday.

The vehicle was taken away at gunpoint by the unidentified men while it was on its way to the airport last night, police said adding, the driver of the vehicle, a Sri Lankan and who was the only in the van, managed to escape on Tuesday morning.

In August 2005, a car of an Indian diplomat was robbed at gunpoint.
