Jessica Lall case: Cop transferred

Inspector Raman Lamba, who had allegedly helped escape a key accused in Jessica Lall murder case, has been transferred from the special cell to the 1st battalion of Delhi police.

Lamba, who was in anti-auto theft squade of Delhi Police, had allegdly helped Manu Sharma escape after the ramp model's murder in 1999.

Lamba's transfer comes in the wake of special investigating team completing the questioning of police officials as part of its probe in connection with the destruction of evidence case registered by the police after the public outcry over the acquital of all the nine accused in the murder.

However, police officials said Lamba's transfer was a routine one.
