Fog in Delhi grounds flights

Domestic air services were disrupted for nearly three hours in the national capital on Monday morning due to fog, airport sources said.

The visibility reduced to 700 metres at 6 am, disrupting domestic services for three hours.

Domestic flight operations were normal after 9 am, the sources said, adding that however, international services had remained unaffected. 

Jet Airways [Get Quote] flights to Bangalore, Kolkata and Mumbai were rescheduled due to fog, a company spokesman said. Indian also reported delays in flights to Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata and Jaipur.

The Weather Department said the fog was due to moisture in the air. The minimum temperature in the capital was 14 degree Celsius, one degree below normal. The night temperature also dropped slightly.
