Gunman opens fire in Mahesh Bhatt's Mumbai office Syed Firdaus Ashraf | June 14, 2006 13:33 IST An unidentified gunman fired two rounds inside director Mahesh Bhatt's office in suburban Juhu in Mumbai on Tuesday afternoon. The veteran director was not in the office at the time of the incident. No one was injured in the incident, and the gunman fled the scene on a motorcycle. The police said they were investigating the case. The director's producer brother, Mukesh Bhatt, told reporters that he has not received any threats from the underworld -- the bane of the Mumbai film industry -- nor has anyone called him after the incident. Asked whether he would seek police protection, Mukesh Bhatt said, "I will not seek police protection. I am an ordinary person leading a simple life." Additional Police Commissioner (West) Bipin Bihari told PTI that he has received a report about the incident. "We are getting details," he said. Mumbai Police Commissioner A N Roy said it was too early to comment on the motive behind the shooting.
