J&K: Two Army personnel killed; two Hizbul militants surrender

Two Army personnel and a militant were killed in an encounter at Kund area in Udhampur distict late Friday night while two Hizbul Mujahideen militants including a self-styled tehsil commander surrendered in Thalel village of Doda disrict, official sources said Saturday.

Two Army jawans, hawildar Virpal Singh and sepoy Karodimal, were killed in a fierce gun-battle with militants at village Kund, sources said.

Meanwhile, two Hizbul militants surrendered before Doda SSP Prithvi Raj Manhas Friday evening and have been identified as Mohammad Amin alias Yasin and Altaf Hasain, both resident of doda, sources added.
