Court not to stall Karnataka government formation

February 02, 2006 19:57 IST

The Karnataka high court on Thursday declined to stay the swearing-in ceremony of the Bharatiya Janata Party and Janata Dal-Secular coalition government on Friday.

The governor will administer the oath of office and secrecy to Kumaraswamy and Yediyurappa on the portals of the state secretariat at 1221 IST.

Police have made tight security arrangements for the swearing-in ceremony. Bharatiya Janata Party president Rajnath Singh and the party's senior leader M Venkaiah Naidu will be present, party sources said.
