Why should I apologise to PM: Natwar

Suspended Congress leader Natwar Singh on Friday dismissed reports that he has sought an appointment with Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to express regret over his (Natwar's) attack on him.

"What have I done to express regret?" Natwar shot back when asked whether he has expressed regret to the prime minister.

He was talking to reporters outside Parliament just after he was disallowed to make a statement in the Rajya Sabha.

"I am addressing a press conference at my residence... You are all invited," Natwar remarked when newsmen queried further in the wake of reports that he had mellowed down and wanted to meet Dr Singh to mend fences.

Asked if his applause in the Upper House during replies in the Question Hour was suggestive of any breakthrough with the Congress, he quipped, "There is no break, there is no through."

"Everyone is invited to my house. There is no restriction...," he remarked.

Asked whether he has sought an appointment with Congress president Sonia Gandhi, Natwar said, "No."

Sub: Natwarlal should bring this to an end.

Otherwise he could end up in much worse a situation. She has the powers. And she has installed the PM.
