Jharkhand Rural Development Minister Enos Ekka Saturday escaped a bid on his life when a police vehicle escorting him was blown up by suspected naxalites near Kolibira Ghati in Simdega district of Jharkhand.
Ekka told Press Trust of India over phone that he was apparently the target of the extremists. Official sources confirmed the incident but could not say whether there were any casualties.
Ekka was on his way to lay the foundation stone of a school building and a road in his home constituency, Kolibira.
