Indo-PoK bus: Pak team to visit Uri

Mukhtar Ahmad In Srinagar | March 14, 2005 12:31 IST

A team of senior Pakistani army officials will meet in Uri in north Kashmir on Monday to finalise the arrangements for the Srinagar-Muzaffarabad road, official sources said.

Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh is scheduled to flag off the first bus service, which will resume after over 57 years, from Srinagar on April 7.

Last week, senior Indian army officers met Pakistani officials in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir to ensure the smooth launch of the service.

Senior army officials also briefed Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed about the ongoing works on the bus route.

They informed him that the route would be completed by March 31.
