Goa Governor S C Jamir on Wednesday dismissed the Manohar Parrikar-led Bharatiya Janata Party government in the state.

The dismissal came just hours after the government won a confidence vote amidst confusion and chaos over the disqualification of independent MLA Philip Neri Rodrigues.

Speaking to reporters at the Raj Bhavan gates, Leader of the Opposition Pratap Singh Rane said the governor has signed an order dismissing the government.

The Congress leaders had rushed to the Raj Bhavan after the Bharatiya Janata Party-led government won the confidence vote.
