Dr Puri's body to be brought to Delhi

The body of M C Puri, retired professor from Indian Institute of Technology-Delhi, who was killed in the suspected terrorist strike at Indian Institute of Sciences in Bangalore will be brought to New Delhi on Thursday.

Puri's relatives had left for Bangalore and are expected to bring the body to Delhi by evening, family sources said.

A Professor Emeritus of Mathematics, Puri was killed at the IISc after unidentified gunmen opened indiscriminate fire at researchers walking out of the J N Tata Auditorium, the venue of an international seminar on Operations Research Applications in Infrastructure Development.

Puri, the head of the Operational Research Society of India, had gone to Bangalore on Friday.
