Heavy rains lash Indore, 7 killed

Seven persons were killed following heavy rainfall in Indore district since Sunday inundating low-lying areas in the city, an official said on Monday.

"Two boys were swept away in Jagdish Nagar in Indore, while two women and three children were killed due to heavy rains since Sunday night in the district," Indore Collector Vivek Agrawal told PTI.

Heavy rains inundated low-lying areas and slums in the city forcing the administration to shift nearly 12,000 people to safer places, he added.
