A British national accused of child sexual abuse was extradited and brought to Mumbai on Monday morning, police sources said.

Allan Johan Water, in his early fifties, was booked for child sexual abuse by the Colaba police in south Mumbai in 2001 along with another British national Duncan Grant. However, both had left the country prompting the extradition request.

The duo allegedly abused inmates of Anchorage Orphanage in Colaba until one of their victims complained to the police. After Interpol sounded an alert at New Delhi's request, US authorities detained Water at New York's John F Kennedy airport.
