Agencies | May 06, 2004 12:05 IST

Several people -- seven according to one report -- were killed in a suicide attack at the entrance of the Green Zone government complex in central Baghdad on Thursday.

Many people, including three US soldiers, were also injured.

"What appears to be a suicide bomber in a car pulled up at the checkpoint about two or three cars back from the checkpoint and detonated his bomb," US Army Colonel John Murray was quoted as saying.
