Clothes for real people

Priya Ganapati in New Delhi | May 02, 2004

His cuts were simple and his clothes were shorn of heavy embellishment. Yet, the rich silk colours -- particularly maroon and turquoise blue -- that were fashioned into graceful skirts and tops gave Raghavendra Rathore's collection a very striking and elegant look.

The designer showcased a cross section of looks for both summer and winter.

Though he presented a limited range and style -- the show itself lasted a mere 20 minutes -- Rathore's collection had some very interesting and wearable clothes. His collection will do very well as separates too, which is something that should appeal to any woman looking for outfits that are casual yet elegantly chic.

He has now partnered with retail chain Shopper's Stop to sell his prêt line.

We had only one complaint with Rathore -- we wish he had shown a wider range and a larger collection.
