Major, two terrorists killed in J&K

An army officer and two terrorists were killed and a soldier injured in a fierce gun battle in the frontier district of Kupwara in Jammu and Kashmir on Friday, official sources said in Srinagar.

Acting on a tip-off, troops of 18 JAK Rifles led by Major Sharma raided Mielyal village, the sources said.

The raiding party came under heavy fire and in the encounter the casualties took place, the sources added.
