Bihar MLA's abducted kin butchered

The badly mutilated bodies of the abducted in-laws of Bihar MLA from Rupauli Vibha Bharati were recovered from the bank of a river at Bankaghat in Purnea district on Friday.

Deputy Inspector General of Police (Purnea) R P Singh said an unidentified gang had abducted the duo from Rupauli area on May 30. The captors had butchered them and discarded the mutilated bodies, which were found in gunny bags on Friday morning.

The hands and feet were chopped off and faces were distorted recognition. Two other bodies were also retrieved from the river.

The bodies were brought to Sadar Hospital in Purnea for post-mortem.

Sangit Mandal, son of former MLA from Rupauli Saryug Prasad Mandal, has already been arrested in connection with the abduction.

Tension was running high in the area following the killings.
