Smriti Malhotra now Yuva Morcha V-P

Noted television star Smriti Malhotra-Irani of Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi fame, who recently joined the Bharatiya Janata Party, was on Thursday appointed vice-president of the Maharashtra unit of the Yuva Morcha, the party's youth wing.

The actor had campaigned for the party during the election to the Delhi assembly.

Dhananjay Munde, nephew of state BJP president Gopinath Munde, has been appointed general secretary of the outfit along with Shrikant Bhartiya and Vikram Deshmukh.

The announcement of the new office bearers was made by its chief Sujitsinh Thakur. Along with Malhotra, Pravin Chheda, Vasudev Kale, Sanjay Kenekar and Vikrant Patil were also named as vice-presidents.

The appointment of five vice-presidents, three general secretaries and five secretaries would be valid for three years.

The five secretaries would be Sharad Mhatre, Poonam Shinde, Uday Wagh, Jaideep Deshmukh and Santosh Shinde.
