February 14, 2004 14:34 IST

At least 15 people were killed and 22 wounded when insurgents attacked a police station and a government building in Fallujah, west of Baghdad, on Saturday, police and hospital officials said.

A group of heavily armed men opened fire on the buildings with automatic weapons and rocket-propelled grenades.

The dead and wounded were mostly policemen. Two women and a child were also killed in the firing.
