Water released from Tibet lake, alert in HP August 12, 2004 16:28 IST Last Updated: August 12, 2004 16:32 IST The entire area along the banks of Sutlej and Spiti rivers in Himachal Pradesh was put on maximum alert on Thursday following a communication from the Union government that overflowing water from a lake in Tibet has been released into Preechu river.
The water was likely to reach Rampur on the Indo-Tibet border by evening, Chief Minister Veerbhadra Singh told reporters. More reports from Himachal Pradesh
