May 27, 2003 00:50 IST

The Samata Party on Monday expelled its Bihar Member of the Legislative Assembly Sunil Pandey, arrested in Patna on Friday in connection with the abduction of Dr Gajendra Kumar Sinha from Hajipur in December last year

Party general secretary Shiv Kumar said in press release in New Delhi that Pandey has been expelled from the primary membership of the party with immediate effect by Samata Chief and Defence Minister George Fernandes.

He was also accused for patronising the abductors of neurosurgeon Ramesh Chandra recently, who was rescued from Chiraura village under Naubatpur police station on Wednesday.
