Case against Rabri Devi's brothers, father

Anand Mohan Sahay in Patna | March 07, 2003 16:41 IST

Five villagers have filed a court case against Bihar Chief Minister Rabri Devi's brothers and father, accusing them of grabbing their land.

The five, from Selarkala village in Gopalgunj district, filed the case in the court of a chief judicial magistrate against brothers Sadhu Yadav and Prabhunath Yadav and their father Shiva Prasad Chaudhary.

The complainants alleged that Sadhu Yadav and his kin had threatened to abduct and kill them.

Rabri Devi's father is the head of a village council in Gopalganj district. Sadhu Yadav is a Rashtriya Janata Dal legislator.

The complainants alleged that Sadhu Yadav and his kin had fraudulently purchased their land last year.

Sadhu Yadav and his brother have denied the charges.
