Laloo turns 56

Anand Mohan Sahay in Patna | June 11, 2003 10:56 IST

Ruling Rashtriya Janata Dal supreme Laloo Prasad Yadav on Wednesday turned 56.

He started his day with some religious rituals and accepted greetings from well wishers, including ministers and party workers.

Like in the past, RJD workers will mark the occasion as Communal Harmony Day and Yadav is expected to cut a large cake depicting a temple, a mosque and a church, symbolising communal harmony.

Perhaps inspired by President A P J Abdul Kalam, Yadav is expected to spend some time with underprivileged children specially brought to his home to join the festivities.

RJD workers usually use the occasion to prove their loyalty to their leader by various functions in honour of Yadav.
