Students' killing: Suspended cop assaulted in jail

Suspended sub-inspector Samshe Alam, who was arrested by the CID probing the 'fake encounter' in which three students were killed, was thrashed by a group of inmates inside the Beur model jail on the outskirts of Patna.
Official sources said a group of prisoners assaulted Alam on Thursday when he had gone to the main gate of the jail to
collect some articles brought by his colleagues for use inside the jail.
Alam, who suffered a minor injury, was kept under tight security away from the other inmates following the incident.
The government is considering shifting him to another jail in Patna or outside for security reasons.
