Suspected informer in Raja Bhaiya case found murdered

February 05, 2003 01:19 IST

A day after a key witness in the Prevention of Terrorism Act case against Raghuraj Pratap Singh alias Raja Bhaiya was murdered, a suspected police informer in another case against the jailed independent legislator was on Tuesday found dead near the Beti palace, police said.

The palace belongs to Raja Bhaiya's family.

Bindhan Pal's body was found in the fields in the Rammu-ka-Purwa hamlet, police said.

Contradicting the version of locals, police insist Pal was not in any way connected with the cases against Raja Bhaiya.

Pal was a drunkard and might have died after falling in an inebriated condition, the Station House Officer of Kunda police station suggested.

The body has been sent for post-mortem, he said.
