December 09, 2003 13:12 IST

Former Bihar DGP D P Ojha, who quit the Indian Police Service following his tussle with Rashtriya Janata Dal supremo Laloo Prasad Yadav, on Tuesday said he would move the Supreme Court within 15 days for transfer of all cases relating to RJD MP Mohammed Shahabuddin.

Ojha, who is in Delhi to seek legal advice, told PTI that he would request the apex court that Shahabuddin be tried outside Bihar, preferably in Delhi, to ensure a fair trial.

Chief Minister Rabri Devi recently removed Ojha from the DGP's post after he had publicly accused Shahabuddin of maintaining links with 'criminal and anti-national' elements. He had also said the RJD MP should be shifted to Tihar Jail in Delhi from Siwan prison in Bihar.
