Two bodies of those killed in the chopper crash off the Mumbai coast were brought to the Vile Parle aerodrome on Monday afternoon.

They were identified as Captain Jaiswal and Flight Engineer Ravindran. Reports suggested that the two were working for MESCO airlines, which owned the chopper. However, there was no independent confirmation.

Two injured were also brought to the facility for treatment.

There were 29 people in the MI 172 chopper, which was on duty with the Oil and Natural Gas Corporation. The crash took place off from the Sagar Kiran rig in the Neelam oil field area.

"A technical team is trying to find the reason for the crash," a MESCO official, who did not wish to be quoted, told rediff.com
