Hectic preparations for royal bath in Nashik

Hectic preparations are on in Trimbakeshwar, 29 km from Nashik, for the first royal procession and bath (shahi snan) of the ongoing Kumbh Mela.

National president of Juna Akhada Paramananda Saraswati, president of the Akhada Parishad Sagarananda Saraswati, senior police officers and the district administration have held a series of meetings to chart out the route for the procession on the day of the first 'parvani' (special day).

Thousands of sadhus have already reached the holy town of Trimbakeshwar, which enshrines one of the 12 jyotirlingas.
