With top actresses like Aishwarya Rai, Katrina Kaif and Kareena Kapoor doing item numbers in movies now, the 'real' item girl seems to have gone missing.

We take a look at the women we'd like to see on screen again, in a rocking item number.

Yana Gupta

Even though Yana Gupta has featured in quite a few item numbers the only one she'll ever probably be known for is her first, Babuji Zara Dheere Chalo, in Dum.

Since then, she's kept herself busy in reality TV shows, and an upcoming English music album.

But we'd love to see her do an item encore again.

The last time we saw Rakhi Sawant in an item number was in 2008's Krazzy 4 song, Dekhta Hai Tu Kya.

The song was good, Rakhi's thumkas even better.

Like Yana, Rakhi has gone the telly way, signing up for more and more reality shows.

Kashmira started her career as an actress with small roles in films like Yes Boss and Jungle. Later, she shifted to item numbers like Jawani Se Ab Jung in Vaastav and Chalka Chalka in Aankhen.

The starlet will return to her forte in Saath, where she will be doing an item number.

But she hasn't swung in an item number in the recent years, making us wonder why.

After the remix song Chadti Jawani featuring Nigar Khan became a big hit, Nigar moved on to do item numbers in films like Rudraksh (Ishq Khudai) and Shaadi Ka Ladoo (Chal Hatt).

Known for her Baby Doll hit albums, Deepal Shaw made a beeline for the movies with an item number in Kalyug (Dheere Dheere). She went on to act in movies but that is clearly not her forte. Item numbers is, and we'd like to see her in one.

Prakash Jha gave a break to Mrinalini Sharma in Apharan, where she danced in the item song Aao Ji Babuji.

It helped her bag a few film roles in Awarapan, and Hide and Seek. But nothing since.

A popular telly bahu, Barkha took off her ghoonghat to do an item song in Prakash Jha's Raajneeti (called Ishq Barsein).

She showed us she could dance, and we'd like to see more of her.
