Women always dig men in uniform. As Shahid Kapoor becomes the latest to suit up, we ask you readers to judge which of these 10 actors you think looks best in fighting gear.

Vote for your favourite at the end of this slide show!

Shahid Kapoor in Mausam

In Pankaj Kapur's directorial debut, son Shahid plays an air force pilot.

The youngster sports a full moustache for the first time on-screen, and if the yelps coming from women in the audience while the promo plays are any indication, he's rocking the uniform pretty darned well.

Vishal Bhardwaj's most recent film had Priyanka Chopra killing off seven husbands, with Neil Nitin Mukesh -- playing a stiff Major the posters referred to as Aadamkhor -- possibly the cruellest of the lot, a man with a limp and a cold heart.

He looked rugged and significantly macho, however.

Fans of the man will say well-built clotheshorse Roshan looks good in mostly anything he wears, but the close-cropped hair and earnest demeanour gave us our first glimpse of serious Hrithik, no-nonsense, crisp and an actor determined to try hard.

And boy did he make that uniform look sharp.

He mostly wore dweeby sweaters with oiled down hair in Main Hoon Na as he had infiltrated a college as part of a covert mission, but whenever Major Ram Prasad Sharma showed up in uniform, he nailed the look perfectly.

Not that it's much of a surprise considering how we first got to know him in Fauji.

Lara Dutta and Priyanka Chopra both flanked Air Force officer Akshay Kumar.

Playing a character named Raj Malhotra, Kumar proved to be the only thing that worked in this cliched film. And he certainly has the build to slide into uniform and fill it out just right.

Kapoor won the National Award for his acting in this Rajkumar Santoshi film. Starring opposite frequent co-star Madhuri Dixit and the pretty Namrata Shirodkar, Kapoor's Major Jaidev might have been a (wrongly) disgraced armyman but looked a very capable and committed one.

As always, the actor was rock solid and very credible.

Amitabh Bachchan in Major Saab

You might only remember the Sona Sona song from this rather unsavoury Tinnu Anand film, but it was one where Amitabh played an armyman.

As the stern Major Jasbir Singh Rana, the legendary actor didn't put a foot wrong and one only wishes the film's writers were as competent.

Akshaye Khanna in LoC

He might not have been the most testosteroney performer available, but there is a degree of sincere helplessness all over Khanna's face. As one of many soldiers in JP Dutta's unending ensemble-heavy works of jingoistic weight, he wore the uniform proudly.

Rajesh Khanna in Aradhana

In Shakti Samantha's classic film, Khanna plays an Air Force pilot. While he crashes tragically and spectacularly, he has no such problems looking his absolute best while in uniform.

Sharmila Tagore was utterly besotted, and it's not too hard to figure why.

Dev Anand in Hum Dono

Devsaab, a man of style who could carry off any look he chose, forsook his scarves as his character gave up the civilian life and joined the Army on a whim -- where he went on to meet a moustached doppelganger with exaggeratedly British mannerisms.

Both Devs were, as was the norm for movies made by Chetan Anand, in fine nick.
