Get your low down on what's happening in the world of Telugu cinema, right here!

Another kid from the Chiranjeevi family is entering the film world.

After Chiru, Pawan Kalyan and Ram Charan Tej, it's Sai Dharam Tej's turn to step into tinsel town. Chiru's nephew (sister's son) will be making his debut in YVS Chowdary's film titled Rey.

YVS has a knack of identifying new talent and has introduced actors like Ram and Ileana to mention a few. Besides Dharam Tej, YVS is also introducing two heroines in the film -- Shubhra Aiyappa and Amruta Patki.

The muhurat was held on Vijayadashami day. Since it was the mega star nephew's film, some of the bigwigs like Akkineni Nageswara Rao, D Rama Naidu, K Raghavendra Rao, Chiranjeevi, Naga Babu, Pawan Kalyan Allu Arvind, Nandamuri Hari Krishna and Kalyan Ram attended the launch.

YVS seems to have left no stone unturned while launching this new kid. In fact YVS introduced a 52-page brochure having details of the film, synopsis, actors, before the launch in another function.

Rey is a musical film set in the Caribbean islands. The islanders are known for their music and fun. The West Indies has numerous people of Indian origin as Indians went as settlers' centuries ago to make the islands in the Caribbean their home.

"The hero, born and brought up in West Indies, is passionate about music and hence forms a band called Rey with his friends. The tagline for Rey is "Shout for success".

It will be shot in the Caribbean Islands and USA," said YVS Chowdary.

Speaking on the occasion Sai Dharam Tej said, "I feel fortunate to work in this movie. This is my most memorable day. I want to thank all my uncles and aunts for their blessing. I hope that Rey will give me a good foundation."

Gunasekharan will debut as cinematographer, Stun Siva is behind action and Ganesh Swamy is the choreographer. Dharam Tej has prepared over the last one year for his debut.

The film is scheduled to release in summer of 2011.

Dr Rajasekhar has been in the industry for many years. He is known to act in Telugu remakes of films made in other languages but only after making suitable modifications to the original story.

His last film Maa Annayya Bangaram, a family story did average business.

Now the latest buzz is that Rajasekhar is playing a cop's role in Mahankali directed by Karthikeya. The last time Rajasekhar acted as a cop was in Sathyameva Jayathe, the Telugu remake of the Hindi film Khakee.

Mahankali is produced by Anjeri Arts Banner for which the camera will be wielded by P G Vinda and the music composed by Chinna.

Shooting of the film is underway with some portions to be shot in Bangkok, Thailand.
