When Mani Ratnam met RGV!

Ram Gopal Varma's trilingual Rakta Charitra (Hindi, Tamil and Telugu) is a very important film for Tamil actor Suriya who is making his entry into Hindi films with this film.

He plays Maddelacheruvu Suryanarayana Reddy alias Suri in the movie. It is also very important film for Vivek Oberoi who plays Paritala Ravi, a political leader from Andhra Pradesh. The story of the film is about the rivalry between the two.

The film also has BJP leader Shatrughan Sinha playing NTR. Priya Mani plays Gangula Bhanumati, wife of Suri.

The Tamil audio was released recently in Chennai by Mani Ratnam.

While there is only one Tamil version, RGV plans to release two Hindi versions. He first version is about Ravi's rise in Andhra politics, so naturally it will be dominated by Vivek Oberoi. Suriya appears only in the last part of the first version.

The second part is about the rivalry between Suri and Ravi and the eventual killing of Ravi by Suri.

While the first Hindi version will release on October 22, the Tamil version Rakta Charitram will release during Diwali.

RGV who has sung the theme song in the film said he sang it "not to showcase my singing talent. The music directors forced me to sing tired of my interference!"

Suriya got emotional talking about his journey from an unknown Saravanan working in a garment factory to Suriya, the super star.

"If not for Mani Ratnam, I would have remained Saravanan in a garment factory. Today is an unforgettable day in my life as Mani Ratnam with whom I started my career and Ram Gopal Varma who directed my last film are here on the dais with me."
