Jayasurya is ready with his next Malayalam movie. He plays Priyadarsan or Priyan in debutant director Boban Samuel's Janapriyan. Bhama is the heroine.

"It is a family entertainer that narrates how Priyan, an honest young man reforms Vysakhan (Manoj K Jayan) a government servant known for his indiscipline," says Boban, who has directed popular TV serials like Alphonsamma.

The story is about Priyan who hails from a remote village. He goes to the city and is ready to do any job. He has no other options actually, as he has to shoulder the responsibilities of his family. Though he talks a bit too much, he is good at heart.

After a while, he finds a temporary job at a government office, on a leave vacancy. Priyan becomes a darling of everyone in the office but soon he faces a crisis when Vysakhan, on whose vacancy he had got the job there, decides to rejoin.

Priyan meets Vysakhan now and requests him to continue on leave for some more time. Then Vysakhan demands something in return for the favour, which is quite an impossible task for the young man. But he agrees to do it.

"It is a humorous story and the character has been molded in the way Jayasurya has been known to all, as a nice boy next door," says the director.

Bhama plays Meera, who belongs to a rich household. Priyan lives in a lodge next to her house and he starts romancing her, thinking that she is a maid there.

"He believes that he should marry a girl from a poor family, as only then can he support her. After a while, when he learns that she hails from a rich family, he says no to their affair," says Jayasurya.

Sarayu is the other heroine in the film who hails from a poor family. She lives in Bhama's house which makes Vysakhan think that she is actually rich. He then starts romancing her. A confusion drama ensues which makes the storyline even more interesting.
