There were a lot of laughs, witty remarks and talk of wedding bells at the trailer launch of Imran Khan and Kareena Kapoor-starrer Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu (EMAET).

The lead pair was present at the do at Taj Lands End, Bandra, a western suburb of Mumbai, on Wednesday with debutant director Shakun Batra and producers Karan Johar and UTV's Ronnie Screwvala and Siddharth Roy Kapoor.

Johar, who played host for the evening, kept the conversation flowing with remarks and jokes throught the event.

He didn't miss the opportunity to tease Siddharth Roy Kapoor, who's seeing Vidya Balan at the moment, as he introduced him at the press conference.

"It's great to welcome Siddharth in his freshly ironed shirt. He is very happy as his film (hinting at The Dirty Picture) is about to release this Friday," Karan grinned.

Imran Khan: Kareena is my favourite actress

Imran got straight down to business as he addressed the gathering. "It's a great feeling to be working again with Dharma Productions. We had a great time working on our previous film I Hate Luv Stories," he said.

Inviting Kareena on stage, he said, "I have always mentioned in my interviews that my favourite actress is Kareena Kapoor. Shakun and I were sure that only Kareena could have done the lead role in this film."

He added, "It took a long time for Shakun and Ayesha Devitre to write the film. Ayesha was my hairstylist on Jaane Tu... Ya Jaane Na. When it was completed, I took the script to Karan and he liked it. But we couldn't start right away as Kareena didn't have dates for the film but somehow she managed to agree to do the film."

Karan Johar: The film is not a remake of What Happens in Vegas

Kareena, who looked refreshing in a breezy dress, said, "Dharma Productions and Karan Johar are like a home away from home for me and it's an honour to be associated with UTV productions who have given one of the most special films of my career, Heroine."

Shot extensively in Las Vegas, the film has Kareena playing a hairstylist, while Imran plays an obsessive-compulsive architect who loses his job.

Imran falls in love with Kareena and undergoes a transformation. When asked if the film bears similarities with Hollywood film What Happens in Vegas starring Ashton Kutcher and Cameron Diaz, Karan replied, "There is not even a page of similarity between the two films.

"Of course, Las Vegas and marriage are very evident in the promos but these are the only two similarities. When you see the film, you will come to know that they are two completely different films. I wouldn't have allowed a remake of a film without acquiring its rights."

'Both the censor board and I don't have a sex life'

Shakun, who makes his debut as a director with EMAET, recounted his experience of making the film, "It's been a fantastic journey. I made this film with my friends. I have worked with Imran before when I was an assistant director on Jaane Tu... Ya Jaane Na. I am a big fan of Kareena and I couldn't have asked for a better producer than Karan Johar."

The trailer had previously run into trouble with the censor board objecting to the use of the word 'sex' in it. The board has given the trailer an 'A' certificate. The scene in question is when a person asks Kareena and Imran whether they have had sex, to which they respond 'yes' and 'no' respectively.

Commenting on the issue, Karan at his sarcastic best, said, "The Censor and I have the same problem, we both don't have a sex life."

Kareena has had a successful run this year. Both her releases Bodyguard and Ra.One have been blockbusters.

Does she think she is the number one actress in Bollywood today? "I cannot answer that but yes, I am doing some good films." she replied.

Apart from EMAET, Kareena has three more releases next year, Agent Vinod opposite Saif Ali Khan, Talaash opposite Aamir Khan and Heroine, where she will be the protagonist.

Ask Kareena who the number one actor is in Bollywood today, and she replies with a smile, "For me, my hero number 1 is Saif."

There have been constant rumours of her marriage with beau Saif Ali Khan, but Kareena clarified that an announcement about their marriage date will only happen after the release of their film Agent Vinod, which is tentatively scheduled for a March release.

Kareena said, "Both Saif and I are waiting for Agent Vinod to release. Once it releases, we will announce the date of our marriage."

EMAET is scheduled to release on February 10, 2012.
